Sustainable Development

Sustainable Development refers to a development approach that aims to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It encompasses a balanced integration of economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection. The concept emphasizes the importance of long-term sustainability in policies and practices, promoting an equitable distribution of resources and opportunities while safeguarding ecological systems. Sustainable development seeks to address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, and environmental degradation, ensuring that development occurs in a manner that is environmentally responsible and socially just. It is often articulated through the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are a set of 17 interconnected goals aimed at achieving a better and more sustainable future for all by 2030.
