A violent incident unfolded at American Table Restaurant in Warsaw, resulting in the arrest of a Winona Lake man. Daniel Hugo Duenas-Duron, 26, is facing multiple charges, including battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, intimidation, and possession of methamphetamine. The incident occurred on June 13 when Warsaw Police responded to reports of a battery in progress at the restaurant.
According to witnesses, Duenas-Duron entered the restaurant in an aggressive manner and immediately began assaulting a man. Another individual at the scene intervened and sustained injuries in the process. Duenas-Duron chased both men into the kitchen, causing further damage by ripping a phone from the wall. Throughout the altercation, he also made repeated threats to kill one of the victims.
The restaurant’s manager had called 911 during the incident, providing officers with real-time updates. The estimated cost of the damage caused by Duenas-Duron’s actions, including broken phones, an intercom, and the credit card machine, is estimated to be around $500 to $600.
Subsequently, Daniel Hugo Duenas-Duron was located and his vehicle was searched, resulting in the discovery of meth, a small amount of marijuana, and a THC vape cartridge. Duenas-Duron admitted to possessing THC and engaging in battery at American Table Restaurant.
It is worth noting that at the time of this incident, Duenas-Duron was already on probation for aggravated battery and reckless homicide. His probation was scheduled to end in February 2026.
Duenas-Duron is currently scheduled for a pretrial conference on Wednesday, July 31, in Kosciusko Superior Court Two.
